Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 NORTHAMPTON, Mass. - The Smith volleyball team dropped a pair of non-conference matches to Plymouth State and Framingham State Saturday afternoon at Ainsworth Gymnasium. The Pioneers were swept by PSU 3-0 (25-14, 25-16, 25-22) and was unable to get on the board in their 3-0 (25-21, 25-23, 25-19) defeat to FSU. Mei-Li Smith (Cypress, Calif./Cypress) became the 13th player in Smith volleyball history to reach the 1,000 dig mark in a career.

Plymouth State University
Ella Prince (New York, N.Y./Rudolf Steiner) and Mei-Li Smith (Cypress, Calif./Cypress) each finished with seven kills, while classmate Macarena Rojas (Maipu, Santiago, Chile/Liceo No. 1 Javiera Carrera) led the offense with 16 assists. Sakura Tamaki (New York, N.Y./Fiorello H. LaGuardia) added 12 digs. Julie Voorhes (Ramona, Calif./Ramona) recorded a team-high 16 digs.

Framingham State University
Mei-Li Smith (Cypress, Calif./Cypress) hit .333 with a team-high 13 kills and added 12 digs to complete the double-double, while Macarena Rojas (Maipu, Santiago, Chile/Liceo No. 1 Javiera Carrera) added 17 assists and nine digs. Julie Voorhes (Ramona, Calif./Ramona) finished in double figure digs with 15 digs and added three assists. Jenna Rubin (Norfolk, Conn./Suffield Academy) put forth an outstanding defensive effort recording five solo blocks.

With the losses, the Pioneers fall to 4-17 on the season.

Smith returns to NEWMAC play and hosts Wellesley College Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
