NORTHAMPTON, Mass.--The Smith College volleyball team co-hosts the 2015 Volleyball Hall of Fame Tournament with Amherst College on Friday and Saturday.  The Pioneers (4-18) will play Bridgewater State (10-17) on Friday evening, followed by matchups with Hamilton (4-15) and Vassar (12-11) on Saturday.

Last Meeting, Bridgewater State: These two teams last met in the 2011 Volleyball Hall of Fame Tournament where Smith won 3-2 (21-25, 25-19, 25-17, 17-25, 25-12).

Last Meeting, Hamilton: The Pioneers earned a 3-0 sweep over Hamilton on October 19, 2001.

Last Meeting, Vassar: The Brewers swept the Pioneers twice in the 2014 season, once at the Seven Sisters Tournament, the other at the Springfield Invitational.

The Series:
Bridgewater State: Smith holds a 13-1-1 series record over the Bears. The last loss was during the 2000 season.
Hamilton: The Pioneers have won four-straight over the Continentals and hold a 4-2 series lead.  
Vassar: The Brewers have a 14-11 winning record against Smith.

Fast Facts: BSU is 3-6 away from home and 3-10 on neutral floors...the Bears  are led by Hannah Maymon's 247 kills and Charleyne Panner's 782 assists…Bridgewater State will also matchup with Westfield State and Amherst…BSU was picked second in the MASCAC preseason poll…Hamilton snapped a six-game losing streak with their 3-0 win over UTICA Monday…Erin Donahue leads Hamilton with 189, while Jamie Granskie has a team-high 326 digs...the Continentals will also play Springfield and Westfield State at the Hall of Fame tournament…Vassar got back in the win column with their 3-0 sweep of the The Sage Colleges Wednesday night…the Brewers are 3-2 away and 4-8 at neutral sites…Devan Gallagher powers the offense with a team high 225 kills…Vassar will also face Amherst and Wesleyan this weekend...Smith fell in a tough match to Wellesley College on Tuesday night…The Pioneers will look to end a six-match losing streak this weekend…Macarena powers the offense with a team-high 122 kills and Mei-Li Smith (Cypress, Calif./Cypress)'s 258 assists...

Next Up:  After the Hall of Fame Tournament concludes, Smith closes out their home conference schedule by hosting Mount Holyoke on October 27 at 7 p.m.  Bridgewater State travels to MCLA on October 31. Hamilton welcomes Tufts for a NESCAC contest October 30, while Vassar will on their home court for the last time this season against New Paltz on October 28.
