LEWISTOWN, Maine – Senior Jordan Dubin (Southampton, N.Y./Southampton) improved to 2-0 in singles action during the spring season, but her win was the lone victory for the Smith College tennis team, which fell to Bates College by an 8-1 margin in non-conference action on Saturday.

In her second flight match, Dubin squared off against the Bobcats' Olivia Voccola, posting a 7-6 win in the opening set before taking the second set, and the match, by a 6-2 margin.

"Jordan played one of her best college matches- controlling the pace, drawing her opponent to the net and hit stellar passing shots," said head coach Chris Davis. "She remained calm and relaxed throughout her singles match." 

The Pioneers will be back in action on March 16 at Salve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island.
