Julia Hamilton (Williamstown, Mass./Deerfield Academy) each found the back of the net to account for the Pioneers scoring.
Smith (3-6, 0-2) won the second half, forcing 13 Emerson turnovers while holding their own in the draw circle, claiming 3 of the 5 restarts in the second stanza.
Tayllar Righini recorded five goals and an assist, and Kate Lemire had two goals and six assists to pace the Lions, who improved to 5-2 and 1-1 in NEWMAC competition this season. Meredith Weber also tallied a hat trick as Emerson scored on 17 of its 34 shots.

Hamilton's goal at the 8:53 mark of the first half, her 16
th of the season, snapped a 10-0 run to start the game for the Lions. The hosts led 15-1 before Myran netted her 12
th marker of the season with 5:20 remaining.
Smith returns to action Wednesday when they travel to Westfield State for a 7 p.m. start.
