Jessica Lillquist (East Lyme, Conn./East Lyme) scored twice and classmate
Petru Bester (Deep River, Conn./Valley Regional) finished with one goal for the Pioneers, who hosted the No.22 Springfield College Pride in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference contest Wednesday night.
With the 22-3 win over the Pioneers, Springfield improves to 12-2 overall and 6-0 in conference play, while Smith drops to 3-11 overall and 0-6 in the NEWMAC.
Junior Bianca Raniolo (Yorktown, N.Y.) scored three goals and dished out three assists and twin sister Heather Raniolo (Yorktown, N.Y.) added two goals and two assists to lead the Pride.
The Pride used a 9-0 spurt over the opening 11 minutes of the first half to build a 15-2 halftime cushion. Lillquist got Smith on the scoreboard with her ninth goal of the season at the 18:17 mark. Springfield scored five unanswered before Lillquist's second made the score, 14-2 in favor of the visitors. First-year Gloria Rinkus (Plymouth, Mass.) scored with under three minutes in the first stanza to close out the first half scoring for the Pride.
Springfield dominated the second half, winning five of nine draw controls and outscoring Smith 7-1.

Sarah Price (Hudson, Ohio/Hudson) (Hudson, Ohio) made five saves for Smith, while sophomore Gabriella Anderson (Mahopac, N.Y.) of Springfield stopped one first half shot over her 30 minutes between the pipes to record the win. Junior Carley Elkin (Guilford, Conn.) made one save in relief of Anderson.
Both teams return to action on Saturday, as Springfield hosts Babson at 1 p.m., while Smith hosts Coast Guard at 4 p.m.
