NORTHAMPTON, Mass. – 
Noa Dubin (Southampton, N.Y./Southampton) improved to 2-0 at No. 1 singles and 
Margaret Anne Smith (Spring Lake, N.J./High Technology) earned her second victory of the season at third singles, but the Smith College Tennis Team fell to No. 31 Wellesley 7-2 on Saturday.
Dubin defeated Wellesley's Caroline Hsu 6-4, 6-4 to put the Pioneers on the scoreboard after the Blue swept doubles play.  Dubin was impressive on both the forehand and backhand, displaying a wide arsenal of groundstrokes to earn the victory. 
Smith needed three sets to defeat Rosanne Hu after dropping the opening set 7-5.  Smith responded to win the second set 6-3 and outlatsted Hu 10-5 in the third. 
With the victory, Wellesley, ranked 12
th in the region, improved to 2-0 on the young season while the Pioneers dropped to 1-1, 0-1 in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference play.
Smith returns to the courts on September 13
th when the Pioneers host Babson at 1 p.m.
