Box Score 2 NORTHAMPTON, Mass. - The Smith College volleyball team dropped a pair of matches to Emmanuel College and Bridgewater State to round out play at the Hall of Fame Tournament on Saturday. The Pioneers fell to the Saints (25-17, 16-25, 27-25, 25-14) before dropping a 3-1 (25-21, 25-16, 23-25, 25-20) decision to the Bears.

Xela Miller (Grenada Hills, Calif./James Monroe) was named to the All-Tournament Team after averaging 10.67 kills per game.Â

Elizabeth Peay (Lebanon, Conn./Lyman Memorial) added 11 digs. Senior libero
Julie Voorhes (Ramona, Calif./Ramona) led the team defensively with 22 digs and added a match-best three. Sophomore setter
Maca Rojas (Santiago, Chile/Liceo No. 1 Javiera Carrera) totaled a career-high 36 assists.Â
The Pioneers were impressive in the second set with 12 kills and a .231 hitting percentage. In the fourth set, the Saints forced 11 Smith attack errors compared to their two.Â
Match 2
Miller and Freeman once again paced the Pioneers as the duo combined to hammer down 28 kills. Rojas set a new career-high with her 39 assists and four services aces while Voorhes posted 31 digs. First year Emily Tejada Jaquez took advantage of her playing time and finished with eight digs.
The Pioneers played a great fourth set, hitting .270 with 11 kills and one error only to be outmatched by the Bears who hit .390 with 19 kills and three errors.Â
