NORTHAMPTON, Mass. - The Smith College tennis team suffered a 7-2 defeat to Colby-Sawyer College Friday afternoon in non-conference action.

Samantha Peikes (West Hartford, Conn./Watkinson School) defeater her opponent Aislinn O'Connor at No. 2 singles, 6-2, 6-1 and Morgan Barney (North Attleboro, Mass./North Attleboro) went three sets against Maddy Gemerek, 6-7, 6-1, 10-5.

Noa Dubin (Southampton, N.Y./Southampton) fought with determination, but ultimately fell at the No.1 spot, 2-6, 6-2, 10-7.

With the win, the Chargers improve to 15-4 while the Pioneers fall to 4-9.

Smith returns to the courts on Sunday, April 13th when the Pioneers travel to Connecticut College at 3:00 p.m.
