THE SERIES
Smith and Western New England will meet for the second time on Wednesday afternoon in a series that started lat year. The Pioneers lead 1-0.

LAST MEETING
The Pioneers scored a pair of goals in each half en route to a 4-1 victory over the Golden Bears on September 29, 2015. An own goal gave Smith a 1-0 lead before tallies from Emily Smith (Winchester, Mass./Winchester), Jackie Foody (Weston, Mass./Weston) and Isabella Ayvaz (Waldwick, NJ/Waldwick). Shelby Hall (West Springfield, Mass./West Springfield) and Camryn Biasin (Lee, Mass./Berkshire) split time in the net.

SCOUTING THE GOLDEN BEARS
WNE (4-5-1) is coming off a 2-0 win over Gordon College Saturday afternoon. In that game, Samantha Emmert and Danielle Dixon scored 49 seconds apart early in the second half while goalkeeper Marissa Veilleux notched a six-save shutout, her third clean sheet of the season.  Iman Shehemi and Brooke Labrie lead the team with three goal apiece. Veilleux owns a 1.83 goals against average and .681 save percentage. The Golden Bears average 1.20 goals per game. 

SCOUTING THE PIONEERS
Smith posted a 2-0 shutout victory over visiting Alfred University Sunday afternoon. Jackie Foody (Weston, Mass./Weston) and Emily Smith (Winchester, Mass./Winchester) each scored for the Pioneers while junior goalkeeper Camryn Biasin (Lee, Mass./Berkshire) made two stops to keep the clean sheet. The Pioneers are off to their best start since the 1991 season at 6-1-2. Junior forward Jordan Isaacs (Weston, Conn./Weston) leads the team with seven goals per game. Smith averages 4.33 goals per game and allows 0.67 gpg.
