THE SERIES
Smith and Wellesley will meet for the 54th time on Saturday afternoon in a series that began in 1974. The Blue hold a 32-22 advantage all-time. Smith won 11 straight from 1988 to 1993.

LAST MEETING
Courtney Peterson scored the game winning goal at 95:48 of the second overtime to help No. 9 Wellesley earn a 3-2 victory over Smith on October 3, 2015. Trailing 2-0, Smith countered with a pair of goals less than four minutes apart from Elsie Odhiambo (Oyugis, Kenya/Kisumu Girls School) and Mariah Ollive (Milton, Vt./Milton) to tie the game. Goalkeeper Cameo Tietje (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) made nine saves in the loss.

LAST SMITH WIN
In a high scoring affair, Smith topped Wellesley 5-3 on October 7, 2006.

SCOUTING THE BLUE
After winning their first three games of the season, No. 16 Wellesley is 2-3 over their last five contests and is coming off a 4-0 loss to No. 2 Bowdoin. The Blue managed one shot and one corner in the defeat as goalkeeper Maggie Connelly made eight saves in net. Senior midfielder Courtney Peterson leads the offense with four goals and two assists for 10 points. Connelly was named the NFHCA/Longstreth Division III Defensive Player of the Week as well as the NEWMAC Defensive Athlete of the Week for competition Sept. 19-25. Connelly had an impressive week with 26 saves and just one goal allowed in two games to help the Blue split a pair of contests. She leads the NEWMAC in save percentage (.900) and total goals against (4). The Blue score 2.11 goals per game and were selected to win the NEWMAC.

SCOUTING THE PIONEERS
Smith looks to snap a 10 game losing streak against Wellesley Saturday afternoon. The Pioneers earned a 3-0 win over Simmons Wednesday evening to improve to 3-4 against non-conference opponents this season. In that game, Devon Datsis (York, Maine/York) and Sammie Pavlov (Royersford, Pa./Westtown) scored their first collegiate goals. Senior forward Elsie Odhiambo (Oyugis, Kenya/Kisumu Girls School) leads the offense with five goals. Junior goalkeeper Cameo Tietje (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) owns a 1.96 goals against average and .760 save percentage. The Pioneers average 1.56 goals per game and were picked to finish fifth in the NEWMAC Preseason Coaches Poll.
