THE SERIES
Smith and Coast Guard will meet for the 17th time on Friday evening in a series that began in 2000. The Pioneers lead 12-4.

LAST MEETING
Emily Smith (Winchester, Mass./Winchester)'s goal 34 seconds into the game proved to be the game-winner as the Pioneers came away with a 2-0 win over Coast Guard on October 3, 2015. Jackie Foody (Weston, Mass./Weston) added an insurance goal in the 83rd minute and goalkeeper Camryn Biasin (Lee, Mass./Berkshire) and Shelby Hall (West Springfield, Mass./West Springfield) combined to make seven saves.

LAST COAST GUARD WIN
The Bears scored in the 72nd minute to give CGA a 1-0 win on October 18, 2011.

SCOUTING THE BEARS
Coast Guard is coming off a 2-2 draw to Johnson & Wales on Monday afternoon, their sixth overtime game of the season. In that match, Kali Borden and Gabrielle Auzenbergs scored for the Bears and goalkeeper Rachel Boohar tied her career high with 17 saves. CGA's last win came on September 11th against Randolph-Macon. Boohar is first in the conference with 69 saves on the season and is third with a .852 save percentage. She is now fourth all time with 182 career saves in program history. Clare Hurley, Katie Clark and Auzenbergs lead the offense with three goals each. The Bears average 1.11 goals per game and allow 1.19 gpg. CGA was picked to finish 10th in the NEWMAC Preseason Coaches Poll.

SCOUTING THE PIONEERS
Smith posted a 2-1 double overtime victory over visiting Western New England University Wednesday afternoon. Laurel Reed (Shrub Oak, N.Y./Lakeland) scored the opening goal and Jackie Foody (Weston, Mass./Weston) netted the game-winner with both assists coming from Emily Smith (Winchester, Mass./Winchester). The Pioneers are off to their best start since the 1991 season at 7-1-2. Junior forward Jordan Isaacs (Weston, Conn./Weston) leads the team with seven goals and five assists for 19 points. Isaacs ranks first in the conference in points and second in both goals and assists. Smith averages 4.10 goals per game and allows 0.70 gpg. The Pioneers were selected to finish sixth in the Preseason Coaches Poll.
