Senior forward
Jordan Isaacs (Weston, Conn./Weston) scored her first goal of the season as the Smith College soccer team played to a 1-1 draw with Hartwick College Saturday afternoon in non-conference action. The Pioneers overall record is now 5-9-1, while the Hawks are 10-4-1 on the season.Â
Smith got on the board in the 30th minute when Isaacs took a pass from
Krissy Williams (Stockbridge, Mass./Monument Mountain) and put it in the back of the net.
Hartwick scored the equalizer at the 67:52 mark as Tanner Reed beat three defenders for her first tally of 2017.
The Pioneers best opportunity of the night came late in the second overtime as Smith had three opportunities to walk away with the win but the Hartwick keeper made two outstanding saves and the third shot went wide.

Shelby Hall (West Springfield, Mass./West Springfield) played the first half and both overtime periods, registering three saves in 65 minutes of action, while sophomore
Julia Donovan (Waltham, Mass./Ridgewood) played the second half and made three saves. Hartwick goalkeeper Cassandra Robataille made seven stops.Â
HOW IT HAPPENED
GOAL: SMI 1, HC 0 – 29:49: Isaacs took a pass from Williams 30 yards out on the right side and rifled it past the dive of the Hartwick goalkeeper.
GOAL: SMI 1, HC 1 - 67:52: The Hawks gained possession after a Smith goal kick and Reed beat out three Smith defenders and placed her shot to the lower right corner of the cage.
GAME NOTES
- Smith held the 15-11 advantage in shots and 8-3 edge in corners.
- The all-time series now stands at 0-0-2.
- This was Smith's first overtime game of the season.Â
- Sophomore Julia Donovan (Waltham, Mass./Ridgewood) played a season-high 45 minutes in goal.Â
- First year Etienne Oliver (Portland, Ore./The Catlin Gabel School) made her first start of her career.
