Krissy Williams (Stockbridge, Mass./Monument Mountain) netted what proved to be the game-winner and Shelby Hall (West Springfield, Mass./West Springfield) collected her sixth shutout of the season as Smith soccer picked up a 2-0 NEWMAC victory over Mount Holyoke College Thursday afternoon.Â
The Pioneers boost their record to 6-9-1 overall and 2-7 in conference play. Mount Holyoke is now 2-13-2 on the season and 0-8-1 in NEWMAC action.Â
Smith wasted little time getting on the board as junior midfielder Krissy Williams (Stockbridge, Mass./Monument Mountain) bagged her second goal of the season just 1:25 into the match.Â
The two teams would play scoreless the rest of the half with Smith getting 11 shot attempts compared to eight for the Lyons.Â
Mount Holyoke's best opportunity of the afternoon came in the 63rd minute after a foul by the Pioneers. Dale Leonhart booted a shot from 45 yards out that was stopped by Hall but she was able to gather the loose ball before the Lyons were able to kick it in net.Â
Smith's lead was doubled when senior Jordan Isaacs (Weston, Conn./Weston)Â tallied her second goal of the season at the 75:46 mark.Â

Shelby Hall (West Springfield, Mass./West Springfield) made four saves. Goalkeepers Maria-Lucia Delgado and Amanda Manaster combined for 10 stops for the Lyons.
HOW IT HAPPENED
GOAL: SMI 1, MHC 0 – 1:25: Williams collected the loose ball after a save from the MHC keeper and chipped it over the head of Delgado.Â
GOAL: SMI 2, MHC 0 – 75:46: Isaacs dribbled around two MHC defenders and launched a shot to the upper left corner of the cage approximately 25 yards out.
GAME NOTES
- Smith held the 18-13 advantage in shots and 6-0 edge in corners.
- The Pioneers now lead the all-time series 31-13-4.
- Shelby Hall (West Springfield, Mass./West Springfield) moves to fourth in program history with 14 career shutouts.
