After a trey from Meghan Holland (Atherton, Calif./Sacred Heart Prepatory) to give Smith an 11-10 lead, Alana Keating hit back-to-back three-pointers to give the Engineers a 16-11 advantage. Smith would respond and tied the game at 19-19 following the first 10 minutes of action.

Smith was able to pull away with a 5-0 spurt to begin in the second quarter as their lead grew to as high as nine points on Lauren Bondi (Burnaby, BC, Can./Notre Dame Secondary)'s layup before time expired. The Pioneers took a 34-25 advantage into halftime.

Smith's offense caught fire in the third period as Marquez again opened the quarter with a three. The Engineers cut the lead to eight (40-32) 1:54 into the stanza on Beck's jumper but the Pioneers lead would grow to as many as 17 points on  free throw from Bondi with 1:08 left in the quarter.

The Pioneers outscored WPI 21-5 in the fourth quarter to put the game out of reach.
