THE SERIES
The game marks the sixth meeting between the two programs, dating back to the first contest during the 2012 season - a 21-12 Smith victory. The Pioneers lead the all-time series 3-2.

LAST MEETING
The Pioneers scored six of their eight goals in the first half en route to an 8-4 win over Nichols on March 22, 2016. Sophomores Julia Hamilton (Williamstown, Mass./Deerfield Academy ) and Caroline Myran (Philadelphia, Pa./Germantown Friends School) each tallied two goals.

LAST NICHOLS WIN
Smith got three goals from both Myran and Hamilton, but it wasn't enough, as the Bison of Nichols College defeated the Pioneers by a 20-9 final.

SCOUTING THE BISON
The Bison, led by first-year head coach Melissa Rausch, are returning 15 players from last year's roster that finished the season 3-13 (1-7 CCC). Nichols returns four of the five leading goal scorers from a year ago – including junior Lindsay O'Connell who paced the Bison with 27 goals last season. Senior Brooke Marion, who had a team-high 33 points in 2016, entered the season sixth all-time in program history in career points (98). The Bison enter today's contest after a 15-5 loss to Lasell College March 13. In that game, Marion scored three goals and goalkeeper Emily Eagan made three saves.

SCOUTING THE PIONEERS
The Smith College lacrosse program is off to their best start in program history at 6-1. The Pioneers are coming off a 16-0 shutout of Newbury College Saturday afternoon. In that game, 10 different student-athletes scored led by Sydney Garner (Beaverton, Ore./Oregon Episcopal School)'s three goals and Chloe Harris (Alexandria, Va./West Potomac)' five assists. Harris was tabbed as the Women's Lacrosse Offensive Athlete of the Week yesterday after totaling 16 goals and 12 assists for 28 points while also adding seven ground balls and five caused turnovers while junior Sarah Price (Hudson, Ohio/Hudson) was selected as the Women's Lacrosse Goalkeeper of the Week after finishing with a 4-0 record. Over the four games, the Hudson, Ohio native finished with a 7.15 goals against average and .563 save percentage. Price leads the NEWMAC in saves (59) and save percentage (56.2). Harris leads the NEWMAC in goals (21), assists (18), and points (39). Junior Julia Hamilton (Williamstown, Mass./Deerfield Academy ) is 11 goals away from 100 in her career.
