SCOUTING SUNY PURCHASE
The Panthers, fresh off of their second-straight league playoff appearance, return three of the top four 2016 point scorers this season. Junior attack and tri-captain Kelly Turtell will be an offensive force this season after finishing with 71 points in 2016. Junior midfielder Emma Porter, the 2016 Skyline Rookie of the Year and an All-Region performer, is back after scoring 41 goals and adding 29 assists while All-Conference goalkeeper Cynthia Plackis returns to the back of the cage this season. Due to inclement weather, SUNY Purchase has only played one game in 2017, a 17-7 win at Centenary College. In that contest, junior Zoe Hines not only tied her single-game record for goals in a game, but also achieved the 100th goal of her career in the process with her seven goals. Plackis had six ground balls and six saves in the win.

SCOUTING THE PIONEERS
The Smith College lacrosse program is off to their best start in program history at 7-1. The Pioneers enter tonight's game after their 16-7 win over Nichols College Tuesday afternoon. In that game, sophomore Chloe Harris (Alexandria, Va./West Potomac) scored six goals for the third time this season while first year Sydney Garner (Beaverton, Ore./Oregon Episcopal School) totaled four goals, one assist and five draw controls. Harris, who was named the NEWMAC Women's Lacrosse Offensive Athlete of the Week Monday, leads the conference in goals (27), assists (19), and points (46). Goalkeeper Sarah Price (Hudson, Ohio/Hudson) earned Defensive Player of the Week laurels and tops the NEWMAC in save percentage (.562) and saves (68) and is second in goals against average (6.65). Junior Julia Hamilton (Williamstown, Mass./Deerfield Academy ) is eight goals away from 100 in her career.
