SCOUTING WCSU
The Colonials enter tonight's game at 1-0 after an 18-10 season opening win over Bard College last Wednesday. In that game, senior midfielder Destinee Carey tallied a game-high six goals while dishing out three assists to pace Western Connecticut. The Colonials finished 2016 with an overall record of 6-9 and a quarterfinal appearance in the Little East Conference (LEC) tournament. WCSU returns three All-Conference selections from a season ago in Carley Altemose, Carey, and Olivia Kosilla. Altemose, a 2016 First-Team selection, collected 23 ground balls and had 36 draw controls while causing 15 turnovers last season. Carey was named to the Second Team after scoring 52 goals a year ago to lead the Colonials while Kosilla (Second Team) brings back her 24 goals for WCSU this year as well. Senior goalkeeper Missy O'Donnell started nine games for the Colonials in 2016, owning a 12.19 goals against average and .461 save percentage.

Quinn Lavigne (Portland, Maine/Portland) anchored the defense with six ground balls and three caused turnovers. The Pioneers return five of their top six scorers from a season ago led by
Julia Hamilton (Williamstown, Mass./Deerfield Academy )'s 46 goals and 14 assists in 2016. Harris, Myran and
Emily Biggs (Florence, Mass./Northampton) combined to record 46 goals and 26 helpers last season. Returning between the pipes NEWMAC All-Conference second team selection
Sarah Price (Hudson, Ohio/Hudson) who owns a 9.00 goals against average and .526 save percentage in two games this season. Hamilton is three points away from 100 in her career.
