NORTHAMPTON, Mass. – Senior Margaret Anne Smith (Spring Lake, N.J./High Technology) had a hand in both wins as the Smith College tennis team fell to Colby-Sawyer College, 7-2 Wednesday afternoon. The match started indoors for doubles and was moved outside for singles action.

Margaret Anne Smith (Spring Lake, N.J./High Technology) paired with Noa Dubin (Southampton, N.Y./Southampton) at the No. 1 singles position and downed their opponent 8-3. Smith went on to defeat her opposition Evelyn Miller at the No. 2 slot, 4-6, 6-4, (10-4). Miller owned solid ground strokes off both sides and it was a challenge for Smith to find her rhythm and timing in the first set. In the following sets, Smith's consistency improved as she came out on top in a third set tie break.
