SERIES
The game marks the 53rd meeting between the two programs, dating back to the first contest during the 1981 season - an 11-5 Smith victory. Wellesley leads 43-9.

LAST MEETING
Sophomore Julia Hamilton (Williamstown, Mass./Deerfield Academy ) scored four goals but Wellesley outscored visiting Smith  11-3 in the second half to earn a 17-9 New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) victory on April 9, 2016.

LAST SMITH WIN
The Pioneers last victory against the Blue was during the 1994 season, 10-8.

SCOUTING WELLESLEY
The Blue enter Saturday's game on a 32-game winning streak against the Pioneers. In their last contest, senior Courtney Peterson scored a career-high seven goals to power Wellesley to an 18-16 New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) victory over local rival MIT on Wednesday. The Blue offense is led by Peterson's 18 goals. The Blue were voted to finish sixth in the NEWMAC Preseason Coaches' Poll.

SCOUTING SMITH
The Smith College lacrosse program aims to pick up their first conference win of 2017 today against Wellesley. The Pioneers suffered a 15-5 loss to Emerson last Sunday. In that game,   Clelie Fielding (Francestown, N.H./High Mowing School) recorded a goal and assist to lead Smith, while Caroline Myran (Philadelphia, Pa./Germantown Friends School) scooped up six ground balls, won two draw controls and caused a trio of turnovers. Sophomore Chloe Harris (Alexandria, Va./West Potomac) ranks second in the NEWMAC in goals (34), assists (21), and first in points (55). Goalkeeper Sarah Price (Hudson, Ohio/Hudson) tops the conference in saves (96) and save percentage (.522). The Pioneers were picked to finish 8th in the NEWMAC Preseason Coaches' Poll.
