ALFRED, N.Y. - The Smith College soccer team scored a goal in each half en route to a 2-0 win over Alfred University Saturday afternoon.

Sophomore Reilly Sullivan (Keene, N.H./Keene) took a feed from senior Jordan Isaacs (Weston, Conn./Weston) in the 15th minute to go up 1-0. The Pioneers secured the win on a penalty kick from senior captain Kenza Mdarhri-Alaoui (Alexandria, Va./Bishop Ireton).

Senior goalkeeper Shelby Hall (West Springfield, Mass./West Springfield) made one save in the win.

GOAL: SMI 1, AU 0; 14:03: Reilly Sullivan (Keene, N.H./Keene) took a feed from Jordan Isaacs (Weston, Conn./Weston).

GAME NOTES

• Smith outshot the Saxons (14-2) and held a (6-1) advantage in corners.
• First years Peyton McBride (Manchester, N.H./Goffstown), Kelly McKenna (Wilton, Conn./Wilton), Hannah Kelsey (Hopkinton, N.H./Hamilton College), and Jessica Matsuoka (Redding, Conn./Joel Barton) made their first career start in today's game.
• Smith is now 2-0 all-time against Alfred.
