SMITH HIGHLIGHTS
- First-year outside hitter Caleigh Johnson (Georgetown, Tex./St. Dominic Savio Catholic) led the offense with five kills and two aces.
- Sophomore setter Jody Huang (Cranston, R.I./Cranston) 10 assists.
- Senior libero Sakura Tamaki (New York, N.Y./Fiorello H. LaGuardia) finished with a team-high eight digs.
HOW IT HAPPENED
SET 1
The Beavers hit a season-high .722 with 13 kills and no errors, propelling them to a 25-10 victory.
SET 2
Babson jumped out to a 14-4 lead in set two thanks to four service aces. The Beavers would go on to score the final four points, claiming a 25-11 second set win.
SET 3
Babson hammered out 15 kills in the third set and saw its 20-13 lead trimmed to just two points on a kill from
Caleigh Johnson (Georgetown, Tex./St. Dominic Savio Catholic). That's as close as Smith would get as Babson finished on a 5-0 run.

SMITH HIGHLIGHTS
- Johnson again led the offensive effort with 11 kills and a career-high six blocks. Amy Hagen (Owings, Md./Northern) followed with nine kills.
- Huang orchestrated the offense to the tune of 29 assists.
- Helena Wiatrowski (Winchester, Mass./Winchester) (15) and Hagen (13) each finished with double-digit digs.
HOW IT HAPPENED
SET 1
Framingham State held a slim 4-3 lead before the Pioneers went on a run 6-0 run and never looked back. Back-to-back kills from
Charlotte Strine (New York, N.Y./Brooklyn Friends) and
Amy Hagen (Owings, Md./Northern) secured the set win, 25-17.
SET 2
The second set was a back and forth affair as no team claimed a lead of more than two points until Smith was able to pull ahead 20-16 on an ace by
Helena Wiatrowski (Winchester, Mass./Winchester). Johnson hammered down a thundering kill to close out the set 25-20.
SET 3
A 6-0 run midway through the third set was enough for the Pioneers as Smith was able to pull away for the 25-18 win.
UP NEXT
The Pioneers continue NEWMAC action Tuesday evening at Wellesley.
