• The Smith College soccer team begins the first of six consecutive NEWMAC contests this afternoon against WPI.

 

• Senior goalkeeper Shelby Hall (West Springfield, Mass./West Springfield) ranks second in the NEWMAC in save percentage (.897) and third in total saves (61).

   

• Smith was selected to finish 8th in the NEWMAC Preseason Coaches' Poll while the Engineers were picked to repeat as conference champions.

 

• The Engineers enter today's match after a 2-1 overtime win over Roger Williams Monday, looking to win their first conference game of the season.

 

• Kristen McCrea (14) and Sophie Gomarlo (12) rank fourth and fifth in the NEWMAC in points.
