The Smith College soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to WPI in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) action Saturday afternoon.

In the opening minutes of the second-half, first-year Kelly McKenna (Wilton, Conn./Wilton) had a chance to put the home team on the board but her shot was saved by Hoops and her second attempt was stopped at the goal line by the WPI defense.

Smith goalkeeper Shelby Hall (West Springfield, Mass./West Springfield) totaled seven stops for the Pioneers. WPI netminder Gabriela Hoops made seven stops in the win. In addition to Hoops, the WPI defense chipped in with a team save.
