FIVE THINGS TO KNOW

• The Smith College soccer team plays their home opener Thursday night, as the Pioneers host the Corsairs of UMass Dartmouth at 5:00 p.m. Smith's last loss in their home opener came against UMass Dartmouth during the 2010 season.

 

• Senior goalkeeper Shelby Hall (West Springfield, Mass./West Springfield) started both games in net for Smith this past weekend, and posted 11 saves against Rochester. She is now tied for fourth in program history with her nine career shutouts.

 

• Reilly Sullivan (Keene, N.H./Keene) and Kenza Mdarhri-Alaoui (Alexandria, Va./Bishop Ireton) each scored for Smith in their win against Alfred University.

 

• Head Coach Mark Platts enters his fourth season at the helm of the Pioneers.

 

• The Corsairs' two games this season have been against NEWMAC opponents (Mount Holyoke and WPI). UMass Dartmouth earned a 3-2 double overtime win over the Lyons before falling to the Engineers, 4-3.
