BOSTON, Mass. - The Smith College basketball team shouldered an 86-77 loss to Emerson College in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) matinee Saturday afternoon at Brown & Plofker Gym. With the win, the Lions improves to 7-3 overall and 3-1 in league play, while Smith dips to 6-3 on the year and 2-2 in the NEWMAC.
SMITH HIGHLIGHTS
- Senior guard Lauren Bondi (Burnaby, BC, Can./Notre Dame Secondary) led the offensive effort with 30 points and two assists.
- Senior forward Kennedy Guest-Pritchett (Fairburn, Ga./The Lawrenceville School) was just shy of a double-double, finishing with 12 points and nine rebounds.
- Senior guard Katy McClellan (Palmyra, Pa./Palmyra Area) contributed nine points, seven boards, and three steals.
- Senior forward Emma Seymour (Seattle, Wash./Roosevelt) posted a season-high eight points off the bench.
EMERSON HIGHLIGHTS
- Charlie Boyle finished with a game-high 36 points with five rebounds and four assists.
- Natalie Busch added 15 points and grabbed a team-high eight boards.
GAME NOTES
- Bondi recorded her third 30-point game of the season and sits just 38Â points from 1,000 in her career.
- Smith moves to 5-4 all-time against the Lions.
