NORTHAMPTON, Mass. - The Smith College volleyball team returned to action this afternoon as it competed in a tri-match with New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference foe MIT and non-conference opponent Simmons University. The Pioneers fell 3-0 in both games and move to 1-8 overall and 0-1 in league play.
GAME 1: SMITH 0 MIT 3 (25-13, 25-25-17, 25-17)

- Sophomore Claire Cicchetti (Menlo Park, Calif./Woodside)Â finished with six kills and five digs.
- Junior Jody Huang (Cranston, R.I./Cranston) led the Pioneers with seven assists and six digs.
- The Pioneers fall to 19-54 all-time against the Engineers.
