NORTHAMPTON, Mass. - Smith College defender Beatrice Chaudoin (Millersville, Md./Severna Park) scored early for the Pioneers but SUNY Cortland stormed back for a 4-1 win over the home squad in the championship game of the 2nd Annual Caryl Newhof Classic Sunday afternoon. Smith drops to 1-1 on the season while the Red Dragons improve to 2-0.

5' | SMITH | On Smith's first corner of the game, sophomore Bryn Murray (Glastonbury, Conn./Glastonbury) inserted the ball to the top of the circle. Chaudoin controlled it and ripped a shot past the Cortland goalkeeper.

9' | CORTLAND | Jess Gibaldi collected the ball at the stroke mark and found the back of the net for the equalizer.

38' | CORTLAND | The game-winner came off the stick of Hannah Burchell with an assist from Victoria Ospina.

60' | CORTLAND |  Molly Quinlan tallied an insurance goal for the Red Dragons when she finished a feed from Alanie Genter.

62' | CORTLAND | Amanda Glaser rounded out the scoring for the visitors with an unassisted tally in the closing minutes of the game.

• Smith held a 17-12 advantage in shots while both teams each took six corners.
• First year goalkeeper Channy Gordon made three stops for the Pioneers while Kailynne Reinoehl recorded 14 saves in the win.
