NORTHAMPTON, Mass. - The Smith College field hockey team dropped a 2-0 decision to No. 9 Trinity College Thursday evening in non-conference action. The Bantams open the season 1-0 while the Pioneers move to 1-2.

7' | TRINITY | On the Bantam's first corner of the night, Nicole Quinlan inserted the ball to Caroline Curtin who set up Chandler Solimine for a shot from the top of the circle.
26' | TRINITY | Solimine was able to beat the Smith defense and sent the ball towards the cage where Kendall Brown finished it for the 2-0 advantage.
NOTABLE
- Trinity held a 15-4 advantage in shots and 5-3 edge in penalty corners.
- Smith goalkeeper Channy Cornell (Arlington, Tex./The Oakridge School) made eight saves in the loss, while Lori Berger earned the shutout victory with two stops.
- The Bantams now lead the all-time series 28-9-1.
