NORTHAMPTON, Mass. - Junior Anna Ballou (Deerfield, Mass./Deerfield Academy) scored the game-winner and added an assist as the Smith College field hockey team handed Wellesley College a 3-2 setback in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) action Saturday afternoon. Smith improves to 4-3 on the season and 2-0 in league play, while Wellesley drops to 3-4 overall and 0-2 in the NEWMAC.

HOW THEY SCORED

29:02 - SMITH - Junior Morgan Handwerger (Leola, Pa./Conestoga Valley) won possession from a Wellesley defender and passed it back to Ballou for a quick shot into the cage.

34:41 - SMITH - Ballou lifted the ball and found sophomore Jenine Jacinto (Oceanside, Calif./Mission Vista) who was waiting on the left side of the net to slam a shot past the diving Wellesley goalkeeper.
