THE LEAD
The Smith College field hockey team dropped a 1-0 decision to New England Womens'sand Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) foe WPI Tuesday afternoon in Alumni Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • 14:21 - WPI - Abby O'Sullivan carried the ball into the circle and dished off to Bridget Sullivan for her 21st career goal 

GAME NOTES
  • WPI had the 15-10 margin in shots overall and was awarded nine of 13 penalty corners.
  • Victoria Mellow (San Diego, Calif./Scripps Ranch) accounted for a quartet of shots while Vivian Nelson (Edmonton, Canada/Strathcona) was responsible for two – both on-goal.
  • Taylor Wells (Bryn Mawr, Pa./The Shipley School) made her first collegiate start and made four saves in the losing effort.
  • The Engineers improve to 23-20 in the all-time series.
