After a three-pointer from Wellesley's Emily Kopp at the 7:48 mark, the Smith defense stifled the Blue offense to end the quarter on an 18-0 run to go into halftime up 41-17.

Wellesley opened the third quarter on back-to-back layups from Aguirre and Morakis but Smith responded with a 14-0 run over the next 5:36 to make it 55-21 with just under four minutes left in the period. Smith's Emma Seymour (Seattle, Wash./Roosevelt) knocked down a three-pointer to give the home squad a 63-25 lead going into the fourth.

The Pioneers coasted through the final period to secure the 75-38 victory.
