NORTHAMPTON, Mass. - The Smith College tennis team was back on the courts on Saturday, squaring-off against No. 16 MIT in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) match. The No. 16 Engineers (10-2, 5-0) overpowered the Pioneers (1-10, 1-5), 9-0.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- MIT earned 8-0 wins at No. 1 and 3 doubles to take a 2-0 lead.
- The Engineers earned 6-0, 6-0 shutouts at the No. 5 and 6 singles spots.Â
- Joanna Kim (Chicago, Ill./Northside College Prep) won two sets in her 6-2, 6-0 loss at the No. 2 position.Â
