NORTHAMPTON, Mass. - The Smith College soccer team opened the 2019 season with a 2-0 victory over UMass Boston Friday evening. Playing in a non-conference matchup, the Pioneers scored in the 86th minute and added one for good measure with under a minute left in the win.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • 86' | Jessica Matsuoka (Redding, Conn./Joel Barlow) gathered the ball in a crowded box and slipped passed the keeper.
  • 90' | Etienne Oliver (Sandy, Ore./The Catlin Gabel School) controlled the ball on the left flank and dished it to a wide open Peyton McBride (Manchester, N.H./Goffstown) near the penalty shot. McBride sent a shot into the left side of the goal.
