DANBURY, Conn. - The Smith College volleyball team dropped a pair of games on the final day of the Colonial Classic hosted by Western Connecticut Saturday afternoon. In the opener, the Pioneers fell to Emmanuel 3-0, followed by a 3-0 loss to the host Colonials. Smith rookie Evi Evgeniou (Thessaloniki, Greece/Pinewood International) was named to the All-Tournament Team for her impressive play throughout the three matches.

STANDOUT PERFORMANCES

• Junior Claire Cicchetti (Menlo Park, Calif./Woodside) tallied seven kills against Emmanuel and added six against Western Connecticut.
• Evgeniou delivered an all-around effort of 18 assists, 16 digs and four blocks against the Saints to go along with 14 assists, three blocks, and two aces against the Colonials.

UP NEXT
Smith is off until Friday, September 6 when it travels to Amherst College for a 7:00 p.m. match.
