NORTHAMPTON, Mass. - The Smith College soccer team fell to No.13 Amherst College, 1-0, in a non-conference match Sunday afternoon. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• 24' - Alexa Juarez sent a cross in from the left end line perfectly placed to Natalie Landau whose header trickled to lower right corner of the net
• Smith had a chance to tie the game on a free kick after an Amherst foul, however Emma Sadle's (Portland, Ore./Catlin Gabel) shot was saved by the Amherst goalkeeper

GAME NOTES

• The Mammoths improve to 15-12-3 all-time against Smith
• Amherst held a 13-4 advantage in shots on goal and 10-2 edge in corners over 90 minutes of play
• Sophomore Naomi Falkenberg (Sutton, Mass./Sutton) made seven saves in the first half while first-year Noemi Holand stopped five for the Pioneers in the second period.
• Mammoth netminder Antonia Tammaro made four saves in the shutout
