NORTHAMPTON, Mass. -  The Smith College volleyball team suffered a pair of losses Saturday afternoon in the final games of the regular season. The Pioneers were swept by NEWMAC foe Babson, before a 3-0 defeat to Plymouth State. Smith's record now stands at 21-10 and 4-6 NEWMAC.

Babson Highlights

• The Beavers took a 25-16, 25-18, 25-20 win
• Olivia Smith (Mill Valley, Calif./Tamalpais) finished with eight kills in the match while Kinsey Cronin (Medford, Minn./Medford) added seven kills
• Nathalie Pak (Lexington, Mass./Lexington) had 13 assists and Gabby Beckman (Aurora, Colo./Grandview) recorded a match-high 13 digs

Plymouth State Highlights

• In a tightly contested match, the Panthers came out on top 27-25, 25-23, 25-22
• Olivia Smith (Mill Valley, Calif./Tamalpais) again led the Pioneers with 11 kills followed by Ava Zollinger (Orlando, Fla./Lake Highland Prep) and Abby Sweeney (Spring, Tex./Klein) who each added eight
• Pak totaled 23 assists, while Ari Cross (Wauwatosa, Wisc./Rufus King) finished with a team-high 12 digs

Smith makes its return to the NEWMAC Tournament for the first time since the 2012 season and will travel to N. 2 seed MIT on Tuesday, November 2.
