NORTHAMPTON, Mass. - The Smith College volleyball team overpowered non-conference opponents Bay Path (25-12, 25-11, 25-17) and University of Saint Joseph (25-11, 25-18, 25-20) in a tri-match on Saturday afternoon in Ainsworth Gymnasium. The wins lifted the Pioneers' record to 6-2 on the year.

- First-years Kinsey Cronin (Medford, Minn./Medford) and Olivia Smith (Mill Valley, Calif./Tamalpais) each totaled six kills
- First-year Nathalie Pak (Lexington, Mass./Lexington) dished out 11 assists in helping Smith hit
- Back-to-back kills from Olivia Smith (Mill Valley, Calif./Tamalpais) gave the Pioneers a 15-5 lead as they closed out the first set on a 6-2 run
- In set two, the Pioneers continued their momentum by rattling off eight consecutive points to make it 14-3 and took a 2-0 lead on a kill by Cronin
- The Wildcats would keep it close in the third, as neither team could pull away early on. A six-point burst from the Pioneers made it 23-15 and a kill from junior Ava Zollinger (Orlando, Fla./Lake Highland Prep) gave Smith the 3-0 win

- First-year Abby Sweeney (Spring, Tex./Klein) posted 10 kills and a .304 hitting percentage for the Pioneers
- Olivia Smith (Mill Valley, Calif./Tamalpais) notched 11 digs, seven kills and three service aces
- Pak totaled 20 assists, while Lilly Mearsheimer (Portland, Ore./Cleveland) added 11
