WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - The 10th-ranked Williams field hockey team started fast and never slowed down in posting a 7-0 win over Smith Tuesday afternoon in non-conference action.

SCORING SUMMARY
- 9:08 - Molly Hellman executed a takeaway and with a nice backdoor pass set up Shea van den Broek for a goal.
- 9:30 - van den Broek scored her second goal when she was able tip in a ball out of a scramble in front of the net.
- 11:32 - van den Broek then helped create the Ephs' third goal of the game at 11:32 when she passed forward to Catherine Torres who then connected with Emily Batchelor for the Eph goal.
 - 26:08 - Hellman made a steal and with a couple of smooth dekes was able to come in on goal and score on a shot between the legs of the goalie at 26:08 boosting the Eph lead to 4-0.
- 29:05 - Catherine Torres slid a pass to Emily Batchelor who cranked a laser into the net
- 30:35 - Hellman stole the ball and with a few nice moves finished between the goalie's legs.
- 46:06 - The final Eph goal came from Payton Ahola who rifled a shot to the left of the goalie

Senior goalie Channy Cornell (Arlington, Tex./The Oakridge School) stopped 13 of the 20 shots she faced. The Pioneers' lone corner of the game came in the third quarter.

Smith will begin their conference slate with a road contest at No. 20 MIT Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
