ROCHESTER, N.Y. - On the second day of the Rochester Invitational, the Smith College volleyball team started with a 3-0 win over Medaille before concluding with a 3-2 victory over Buffalo State.

Olivia Smith (Mill Valley, Calif./Tamalpais), Abby Sweeney (Spring, Tex./Klein) and Kinsey Cronin (Medford, Minn./Medford) were named to the All-Tournament Team for their standout performances throughout the weekend.

Smith 3 Medaille 0 (25-12, 25-19, 25-17)

• Smith hit .390 with 41 total kills
• Nathalie Pak (Lexington, Mass./Lexington) finished with 23 assists whle Gabby Beckman (Aurora, Colo./Grandview) totaled 19 digs
• Offensively, Sweeney recorded 10 kills followed by Kinsey Cronin's (Medford, Minn./Medford) eight

Smith 3 Buffalo State 2 (25-18, 19-25, 25-14. 22-25, 14-11)

• Kinsey Cronin (Medford, Minn./Medford) was one of four Pioneers who recorded double-digit kills in the 3-2 win. Cronin put away 17 kills, while Olivia Smith (Mill Valley, Calif./Tamalpais) added 16, Abby Sweeney (Spring, Tex./Klein) had 12 followed by Ava Zollinger's (Orlando, Fla./Lake Highland Prep) 10
• Pak had 24 assists in the match, while Lilly Mearsheimer (Portland, Ore./Cleveland) added 19
• Defensively, Beckman finished with 19 digs

"I am happy with our ability to adjust and create opportunities for our team in tight matches. With no seniors, we may be young, but we took some really great steps to becoming a competitive team. The weekend was full of a ton of high-level plays being and and it was awesome to see our student-athletes taking risk and making some big plays at big moments, especially digging our way out of two five set matches. I am pleased with the physicality of our block and am excited to see how we get better this week. 

Smith will host Massachusetts Maritime Academy on Tuesday at 7:00 pm in its home opener.
