Box Score 2 HUNTINGDON, PA. - The Smith College volleyball team began Day Two of the Wid Guisler Invitational hosted by Juniata College on Saturday. The Pioneers opened competition against No. 2 Juniata where they fell 3-0 and then dropped the match to Carnegie Mellon 3-1.
Smith drops to 19-9 while Juniata improves to 22-1 and Carnegie Mellon moves to 16-6
Highlights vs Juniata
- Abby Hunt (Mandeville, La./Fontainebleau) took charge of the Pioneers offense recording a match-high eight kills
- Sophia Padilla (Fontana, CA/Saint Lucy's Priory) produced 11 assists and 11 digs
- Smith libero Gabby Beckman (Aurora, Colo./Grandview) posted 11 digs
Highlights vs Carnegie Mellon
- Hunt continued to lead the Smith attack by totaling 15 kills
- Padilla delivered a match-high 31 assists while Beckman recorded 12 digs and Sarah Dankovich (El Paso, Texas/Coronado) and Ari Cross (Wauwatosa, Wis./Rufus King) posted 10 digs each
- The Pioneers hit .186 for the match
