CAMBRIDGE - The Smith College field hockey team dropped a 4-0 decision to 19th-ranked MIT in its New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) opener Friday evening. The Pioneers dip to 2-4 on the year and 0-1 in the league action. The Engineers, who are the fourth consecutive ranked opponenet Smith has faced, improve to 3-3 on the year and 1-0 in NEWMAC play.
