Box Score 2 NORTHAMPTON, Mass. -- The Smith College volleyball team cruised to a 3-0 (25-12, 25-15, 25-7) victory over Mount Saint Vincent before defeatingĀ Simmons (25-23, 13-25, 25-22, 23-25, 15-11) in a double header on Saturday. The Pioneers improve to 6-4 on the season, increasing their win streak to six consecutive games.Ā

- With Mount Saint Vincent ahead 9-6, Smith dished out a 13-2 run to take the lead 19-11
- A kill from the Dolphin's Samantha Rapp broke the streak but the Pioneers responded producing the next six points to win the first set 25-12
- Smith jumped out to an early 15-7Ā lead in the second set against Mount Saint Vincent
- The Dolphins responded with eight unanswered points to tie the Pioneers 15-15
- Smith finished with an impressive 10-point run to win the second set 25-15
- With the Pioneers in the lead 8-5, they produced 12 unanswered points to gain a significant 20-5 advantage over Mount Saint VincentĀ
- Smith finished strong by scoring five of the final seven points for the 25-7 victory and winning the match 3-0
- The Pioneers finished the match hitting .355Ā
- Olivia Smith (Mill Valley, CA/Tamalpais) tallied a career-high 20 kills (.514) and eight digsĀ
- Meg Hopkins (Matthews, NC/Covenant Day School) totaled 18 assists and nine digs while Lilly MeasheimerĀ posted 14 assists
- Gabby Beckman (Berthoud, CO/Grandview) led the Pioneers defense with 25 digs while Ari Cross (Milwaukee, WI/Rufus King) added 16 digsĀ

- Simmons started the first set with a 15-9 edgeĀ
- The Pioneers responded with a 9-1 run to take the lead 18-16
- Smith continued to maintain the lead until the Sharks surpassed them at 23-22
- The Pioneers finished strong posting the final three points and winning the first set 25-23
- Simmons jumped out to an early 12-3 lead in the second setĀ
- Smith pushed to reduce the margin but the Sharks claimed the victory in the second set 25-13
- Simmons began the third set with another early advantage at 14-5
- The Pioneers pushed to bring the score to 19-19 after a kill by Sarah Dankovich (El Paso, TX/Coronado)
- After two points from Simmons, Smith scored six of the seven next points to win the set 25-22
- With the Pioneers in the lead 17-12, the Sharks responded with a five-point run to tie Smith 17-17
