NORTHAMPTON - Facing their second-consecutive ranked opponent, the Smith College field hockey team came up short to No. 9 Trinity College, 2-0, Thursday evening. The Pioneers move to 2-2 on the year, while the Bantams open the season 1-0.
"I'm proud of the effort produced tonight by the team," said head coach Jaime Ginberg. "I think we did many things very well and played composed. Our defensive line held us down and are going to prove to be hard to penetrate in the games ahead. These early non-conference opponent games help us become battle-tested and prepare us for conference play."
