• Smith opened the scoring on an unassisted goal by Day in the second quarter
• Mount Holyoke responded just minutes later when Sophia Guziewicz converted a penalty stroke to the bottom left corner
• The Pioneers once again took the lead when Elena Korinek (Stonington, CT/Stonington) was successful on a penalty stroke of her own
• Korinek found Day in front of the net to give Smith a 3-1 cushion
• The Lyons kept pressuring and pulled within a goal off a direct shot from the top of the circle
• Ellie Szostalo (Gorham, ME/Gorham) got the insurance goal in the 53rd minute 
• Emma Newman (Clarks Summit/Abington Heights) made four saves for Smith
• The Pioneers had a slight edge in shots, 18-17, while MHC held the advantage in corners, 9-8
