SPRINGFIELD - A late goal by Laura Dreher (Durham, NH/Oyster River) was not enough as the Smith College field hockey team suffered a 2-1 setback at Western New England University Wednesday evening.

• Laura Dreher (Durham, NH/Oyster River) put Smith on the board late in the fourth after gatherin the rebound of Callahan Day's (Shady Side, MD/Elizabeth Seton) shot and found the back of the net
• WNE outshot Smith 14-2 and held a 13-3 advantage on corners
• Emma Newman (Clarks Summit/Abington Heights) made 11 saves in the loss
