SPRINGFIELD - The Smith College field hockey team suffered a 2-0 setback to Springfield College in a key NEWMAC contest on Saturday afternoon.

Game Highlights

• Emma McLaughlin collected a loose ball and pushed it over the line in the 17th minute
• The Pride were awarded a penalty stroke midway through the third quarter and Nicolette Morlock converted to double the Pride's advantage
• Smith keeper Emma Newman (Clarks Summit/Abington Heights) made eight saves in the contest
• Springfield owned a 15-10 advantage in shots and a slight 4-3 edge in penalty corners
