NORTHAMPTON - Dominating from the first whistle, the Smith College field hockey team out-shot UMass Dartmouth 43-7 to clinch a 5-0 victory on Tuesday over UMass Dartmouth.

Game Highlights

• Smith got on the board at 8:31 in the first quarter when Annika Peterson (Forest Hill, MD/North Harford) dribbled in the circle and ripped a shot past the keeper
• The Pioneers quickly doubled its lead when Annie Wimsatt's (Westerville, OH/Columbus Academy) pass found Callahan Day (Shady Side, MD/Elizabeth Seton) for her sixth goal of the year
• Neither team scored in the second quarter before Ramsay Smith (Williamsburg, VA/Lafayette) made it 3-0 in the third quarter
• Ellie Szostalo (Gorham, ME/Gorham) put the game out of reach in the 43rd minute and Ada Hendrickson (State College, PA/State College Area) rounded out the scoring with her first career goal with three minutes left in the game
• Goalkeeper Emma Newman (Clarks Summit/Abington Heights) finished with four saves in the shutout
