SPRINGFIELD - The Smith College soccer team closed out the regular season with a 2-0 loss at Springfield College Saturday afternoon in NEWMAC action.
Smith (7-9-2, 6-3-2 NEWMAC) will be the third seed in the upcoming NEWMAC Championship Tournament. Springfield ends its regular season with a record of 9-4-4, 6-3-2 and is the two seed. Full brackets and game times for the championship tournament will be made available by the league office later this weekend.
Game Highlights
- After a scoreless first half, Ryan Prystowski put Springfield on the board in the 52nd minute as she converted a pass from Meredith Healy
- Kayla McGrath connected with Mia Salmon in the 84th minute to put the game out of reach
- Skylar Smith (Carlisle, MA/Concord-Carlisle Regional) made seven saves for the Pioneers
- Springfield owned a 21-5 advantage in shots and 11-2 edge in corner kicks
