Soccer Blanked by Westfield State

NORTHAMPTON - The Smith College soccer team was blanked by Westfield State, 3-0, in a non-conference tilt Tuesday afternoon.

  • A penalty kick by Kiana Muratsuka in the 36th minute accounted for the Owls first goal
  • Just before the half, Delaney Parker set up Kylie Tomasetti off a corner kick to double their lead
  • Parker scored her 74th career goal in the 72nd minute to make it 3-0
  • Linnea Alvarado-Faulkner (Brandon, VT) made seven saves in her first career start
  • In total, Westfield State held an 18-6 margin in shots, while corners were tied at 2-2
