KEENE, NH - Laura Dreher (Durham, NH/Oyster River) scored three goals in the fourth quarter but it was not enough as Smith field hockey's rally came up short against Keene State, 6-4.

• The Owls wasted no time and put three goals in the first period courtesy of Grace Seabury, Irini Stefanakos, and Meghan Daileanes
• Sam Sparling (Croton on Hudson, NY/Croton Harmon) found Karlie Guimond (Hatfield, MA/Smith Academy) in the second period to pull Smith within 3-1, but the hosts responded two minutes later to go ahead 4-1
• Keene State added two more in the third from Grace Bazin and Daileanes 
• Trailing 6-1 in the fourth, Dreher took control and scored three goals in under 10 minutes
• Emma Newman (Clarks Summit/Abington Heights) made six saves for Smith
• The Owls held a 23-19 edge in shots and 6-5 advantage in corners
